After record revenues of €66.4 million in the 2015 finical year, uhlsport GmbH is set to expand further in 2016. The sporting goods manufacturer recorded global revenue growth of +11% in the first six months for premium brands uhlsport, Kempa and Spalding.

The Management Board members Peter Kuhl, Dominik Solleder and Melanie Steinhilber are completely satisfied with the results and positive about the future. The company from Balingen, Germany is extremely proud of the significant revenue growth across all brands (uhlsport, Kempa & Spalding) in the German speaking markets. Germany is the fastest growing market, expanding by 18.5% followed by Scandinavia, Japan, Korea and the US, which all experienced double digit growth rates.

The uhlsport, Kempa and Spalding brands had significant growth, but Kempa put in a truly extraordinary performance, expanding by 46%. The performance was due to the new handballs using innovative SYNERGY technology, the new ATTACK shoes as well as the new PEAK range in textiles, which have been a big performer.

Demand for the new goalkeeper glove series with its unique Supergrip gloves remains strong and they were worn by 16 goalies at the European Cup in France including second place goalie Hugo Lloris.

Spalding was able to further cement their position as the number one brand for basketballs with above average growth in the basketball, basketball equipment and textile categories.

"We are extremely proud of the entire team's performance in Germany and internationally, which has led to the progressive double digit revenue growth. We were particularly pleased with Kempa's performance as it developed into an absolute top brand for team sports," Managing Director Dominik Solleder mentioned with satisfaction.

Across all three brands (uhlsport, Kempa, Spalding), the team sport textile divisions are growing thanks to the new team lines LIGA 2.0 (uhlsport), PEAK (Kempa) and EVOLUTION II (Spalding). Consistent investments were made in this area in order to meet the demands of the teams in sports. A large selection of articles and colors were delivered within 24 hours, 99% all articles since the start of the year were supplied. The past four years has shown a great supply rate therefore the company can provide the best possible service for teams in sports.

The outlook for the second half of 2016 is very positive. uhlsport GmbH has high expectations for the team sports division thanks to the high quality control and top service from our teams. In addition, representation of a new brand is starting in the second half of the year with Australia’s BLK – BEYOND LIMITS KNOWN rugby brand, which uhlsport will distribute exclusively in France, Germany and Sweden which will help generate more growth.
